If you had driven to the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne City, you'd probably pass by a gorgeous lil city without knowing its existence.
Geelong is the second most populated city in the Victoria state. It serves as a port, so you'll get a breath-taking sea view when you're here! I would have not have ventured to this area if not for R, who happens to be staying there.
So when K and I were on the way to Great Ocean Road, we decided to pop by Geelong since it's on the way, and have some brekky!
It was very early when we reached there, so most of the shops were still closed, and minimal life was present. There was however a little cafe that was already operating.
Beside The Point is a cosy cafe nicely decorated with Victorian-inspired furnishing. While dining, the cafe had the occasional drop-ins from what seemed like regular customers. It looks like a family business that is often patron by familiar faces from the way the owners greet and chat with their customers.
The food here is relatively simple, unlike most modern breakfast places. Sometimes, simple is the best, right?
We ordered Eggs Florentine and Toasted Panini with Bacon.
One more picture taken right outside the cafe before I end of this post! Do try out Beside The Point if you're nearby, but don't expect a fanciful brekky like Melbourne's if you're here.
